With the news coverage that has hit the Holywell Community today, we reflect on why we are here, living this life, serving this community. It is important to remember the words the Apostle Paul gave to us; For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. (Romans 11:36). Sam and I are here because of God’s calling upon our lives. Speaking personally, I am part of the Holywell Community as a response to all that God has done in my life. I have been extremely blessed, and still am, by God and out of the love and grace He has shown me comes a desire to serve and show love to His people.
Sam and I could be doing this in our own strength but we would burn out rather quickly, but by being rooted in prayer, alongside Fr.Mark, we lean on God and walk in His strength. Jesus told us “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthes 28:17-20) This is what we are doing here in Abergavenny. Fr.Mark, Sam and I have been sent by God to go and share the Gospel, living it out through both our actions and words.
So as we hit the headlines, we humble ourselves and give the glory back to God. For it wasn’t for Him and for Jesus dying on the Cross, the three of us would not be where we are today and none of this would be possible. Therefore, as we say in our daily prayer, Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and shall be forever. Amen.
Peace and Blessings,
