St Non’s and St David’s

In the afternoon of the first day of our pilgrimage, after we had deposited our bags, we were welcomed into the Cathedral and met the Dean, before being offered Shrine Prayers by the Rev’d Canon Dorrian Davies (Residentiary Canon) in the Lady Chapel. After prayers and a brief chat, we had a quick look around the Cathedral before taking our seats for Choral Evensong. Evensong yesterday was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and is available to listen again, for 30 days, from this link.

Having returned to St Non’s for dinner and returned to the Cathedral for a photo opportunity, we had Mass in St Non’s Chapel, before Compline and bed.

Day two dawned with Vigils (for some) at 7am, followed by Mass (again, in the chapel) at 8am, breakfast at 8:30am and Lauds at 9am. At 10am, whilst Sr Amy was meeting a friend, Fr Mark, Br Samuel, Br Adrian and Br Michael explored the Cathedral in more detail, before we all met up and set off for home. Having stopped to say Sext in the lay-by overlooking Newgale Bay, we arrived home at about 3:50pm.

We were touched by the warmth of the welcome we received.

Here are some photos of our pilgrimage.
