Tomorrow you’ll find the Holywell Community in Bailey Park in Abergavenny for the IYE Festival. IYE stands for Integrated Youth Event and it is a day for young people, organised by young people. A charity in Abergavenny called 7 Corners works with young people from varied backgrounds and they have initiated this festival tomorrow. All over Bailey Park there will be stalls advertising organisations from Monmouthshire and the work they do with and for young people. We are one of those stalls.
We are taking along some Tudor games. A part of our time in the Community is spent doing school tours and explaining to children about the Tudors, their pastimes, diet, church life etc. So we thought it would be great to take some of our favourite games along from and introduce them to the youth of today. We are also taking along a 4ft cardboard monk, some post it notes and St Mary’s pens for people to write any prayer requests on, which we will subsequently pray for at our daily offices in the coming week.
In the middle of all these stalls there is a main stage and a workshop area where young people can showcase their talent and learn something new. It’s going to be a great day and we are really looking forward to it.
Maybe we will see you there? It starts at 11am and it free entry. If you can’t make it please do pray for us, 7 Corners, all other organisations involved and those who attend.
